Sefin Mountain Bird Conservation and Breeding Center

Kurdistan Region of Iraq

One of our major environmental projects is the development of a natural reserve and bird conservation and breeding center on Sefin Mountain, located near Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This project reflects our long-term commitment to biodiversity protection, wildlife conservation, environmental research, and sustainable ecological development.

The project is designed as a combined environmental reserve and scientific conservation center. A large section of the area will function as a protected natural reserve dedicated to preserving the local ecosystem, protecting wildlife habitats, and providing a safe environment for native and migratory bird species. The reserve will contribute to the protection of biodiversity and support ecological balance within the region’s mountainous environment.

Another section of the project will serve as a specialized bird conservation and breeding center focused on the protection, rehabilitation, care, and breeding of birds. The center aims to support endangered and vulnerable bird species while promoting scientific research, environmental education, and wildlife preservation initiatives.

The conservation center will include: 

• A      research and scientific study center dedicated to biodiversity, wildlife,      and environmental sciences
• A      specialized bird hospital for treatment, rehabilitation, and veterinary      care
• Scientific      laboratories for environmental and biological analysis
• Protected      breeding facilities designed for bird conservation and reproduction      programs
• Administrative      and operational buildings for project management and coordination
• Residential      housing and accommodation facilities for staff, researchers,      veterinarians, and specialists working on-site

Through this project, we aim to create a leading environmental and scientific center that supports conservation, research, sustainability, and environmental awareness in the region. The project will also contribute to eco-tourism, scientific cooperation, environmental education, and long-term wildlife protection efforts.

Our vision for the Sefin Mountain project is to establish a safe and sustainable sanctuary where nature, science, and conservation work together to protect bird species and preserve the natural heritage of the Kurdistan Region for future generations.
